I’m pretty sure that for me, it’s the waxing gibbous moon phase. I am admittedly a hot mess. That’s not true. I am a lukewarm mess.  This could be a good or a bad thing, depending on perspective – like a glass that contains liquid at the halfway point.

Should I be bothered by this? Not really. This happens EVERY SINGLE MONTH. Not just the phase of the moon, but the effects it has on me.

My bones and joints crack and creak a lot around this moon phase. Random muscles spasm for a few minutes at a time, with no real rhyme or reason. I have trouble falling asleep and my tastes for foods temporarily change. Could this be the phase I become a werewolf?

The waxing gibbous phase is a time for patience, creativity, connectedness, and emotional clarity, according to Spiritual Graph. Of those listed, I am experiencing emotional clarity, but to the extent that it hurts – kind of like when you eat something that is so sweet it feels like it is burning your tongue.

In contrast, I have next to zero patience. I am ridiculously uninspired at the moment, coincidentally at the same time I have creative deadlines to meet. And I have been feeling pretty isolated as of late, mostly because I am in the season of my life where I have two teens and a threenager. So, I am experiencing exactly the opposite of what most people would likely be feeling now.

Are you more patient? Do you have a sudden burst of creative energy? Feel like you are texting more and visiting more with friends and family? Well, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t slightly envious.

Nevertheless, this serves as an example of why getting to know your own patterns is crucial. To be honest, as of this writing, I am not sure if anything I experience during the various moon phases is compatible with what the interwebs say I “likely” will go through. However, I am committed to learning which phase is my sweetest. Then I can schedule EVERYTHING in those few amazing days and hibernate (ahem, manifest) the rest of the month.

So, let’s work on this together.

I’ve created two worksheets for the Full Moon and New Moon cycles for you to download. Write as much or as little as you like to answer the two short questions then pick a teeny ritual to do. Then, share as you wish in our Facebook group and let’s see how many of us truly experience what various sources on the web indicate.

(Worksheets for other phases to come…whenever I discover when I am most compatible with the moon. Remember, I’m sleep deprived, creaky, impatient and lacking in creativity these days!)
